The Abu Dhabi Open 2025 is a WTA 500-level professional women’s tennis tournament. It takes place on outdoor hardcourts and was introduced in 2021 to be played in January at the Zayed Sports City International Tennis Centre in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

The tournament was introduced due to the suspension of all WTA tournaments in China and the delay of tournaments in Australia because of the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2023, the event was brought back to the tour as a replacement for St. Petersburg Ladies’

The inaugural edition of the Abu Dhabi Open was won by Aryna Sabalenka in the singles division, with the Japanese pairing of Ena Shibahara and Shuko Aoyama winning the doubles category. Belarus didn’t return to defend her title in 2023, which witnessed Belinda Bencic lift the trophy.

In 2024, former Wimbledon winner Elena Rybakina lifted her first title in Abu Dhabi. The Kazakh enters the competition as the top seed and frontrunner to defend her title.
