First, Why Do People Believe Everything Will Be Deleted?

The Grow a Garden team, more specifically, Jandel, who is very in touch with the audience, stated that the Summer Update will be the biggest one yet. So, surely you’d assume more, not less?

Well, Jandel likes to ping in-game announcements every so often, and one shared stated:

“So yeah, basically our big update is the Summer season, where we will replace the Seed Shop, Mutations, and Weather in the game.“

This message seems to suggest a huge wipe, where all players’ hard work is undone in favour of newer features. Things like the Beanstalk, Thunder Storm, and Sprinklers are now a figment of the past. Right?

Fortunately, no! The Summer Update message was a misconception. It’s likely that Jandel simply means that during the Summer event, players will keep their current gardens, but experience a new roster of gears, seeds, and weathers that fit the season more.

This could be Jandel’s way of adding more life into the game, where some seeds appear seasonally and grow best in summer. Kind of like Stardew Valley, but on a real-world clock.
