Type Soul Partial Res Guide

What Is Partial Res?

Partial Res, short for Partial Resurrección, is the first set of magical abilities you acquire on the Arrancar upgrade, as you draw on the essence of your Arrancar’s Soul. This will grant you a transformation and elemental moveset, and it’s a vital step if you want to really get into PVP.

How To Get Partial Res

To get Partial Res, at least in the early game, you need to follow the Hollow upgrade path, and become an Arrancar. (Check out our Hollow Progression guide if you’re not sure how to do that.) Then, you need to follow these steps.

Reach Grade 2. If you’re a Menoscar, you should spawn in after transforming as a Grade 5, Adjucar or a Vastocar, you should be higher. You can raise your grade by completing missions, found at mission boards scattered around the game world. Keep grinding these until you reach it. You can check your grade by looking below your name on the player list. (You may need to log out or back in for it to update.)
After this, you need to head into the castle. Head to the back, then turn right, and take the rightmost flight of steps. Then pass through a lab-like room and turn left to find a table with a purple orb. Interact with the orb and, after some dialogue, it should drop an item that looks like a lightning bolt. Pick this up and you should be sent to the Partial Res Obby section.
Now you need to complete the obby. This is mostly a matter of careful platforming skills. You are carrying the lightning bolt, so you can’t dash or flashstep. Carefully hop to each stone platform. The last jump is the hardest. Make sure you carefully position yourself on the very edge, as far as you can get without falling off, that should help you clear the last pit. Then you just need to interact with the black orb.
