Prospecting Update Guide

Eager to find out the latest news from the world of Prospecting? The game is growing pretty quickly, and it’s useful to know the most recent developments to chase up. That’s why we put together this Prospecting update guide, where we keep you up to date with changes as they arrive.

We’ll order each of the updates below.

August 16th – Snowy Update

New Area: Snowy Mountain
- Accessible after Volcano Island. Advance beyond the second island to access this area.
New Pans
New Shovels
New Sluice
New Quests
New Equipment
Blueprints Feature
Magma Forge
- Used to merge five-star equipment.
New potions at the Traveling Merchant.

Rebalances And Fixes

Relics are now sellable.
Cryogenic Preserver is now a Charm.

August 9th Update

Travelling Merchant, arrives 45 minutes on the hour in one of a few locations around the map, and sells rare items.
Quest tracker book added.
Daily Quest, refreshes every 24 hours.
Auto Sell option.
Auto Lock option.

Rebalances And Fixes

Travelling Merchant duration increased.
General bug fixes.

2nd August Update

This small content update dropped on the 2nd of August.

New Shovel
New Pan
New Sluice
New Event
New Merchant on Volcano Island
New quests.
New shop AI.

The Volcano Awakens

This update dropped on Saturday, the 26th of July.

Content

Here is where we put any major additions to the content of the game. New areas, new equipment, new quests, and such will all go here.

New Map Expansion Area
- Volcano Island, accessed after fixing the Lighthouse on the mainland.
New Ores
Event System
- New events appear every hour. These include the following:
- Meteor Shower
- Mythic River
- River Rapids
- Solar Flare
- Waypoints
A fast travel system that lets you move around the map more easily.

Rebalances

Any changes to the game balance, buffs, nerfs, changes in how things work, these all go in this section.

Rarity of Luminium reduced. (You should be able to get is easier now.)
Dragonflame Pan side reduction lowered, stats buffed.
Phoenix Wings is now a Charm.

Fixes

Any bug fixes or minor tweaks to how the game plays will go in here.

Upcoming Update

The next update for Prospecting is called Volcanic Expansion, and it drops on August 9th at 4pm (BST). There isn’t a ton of info just yet, but by the title we can pretty reliably infer that this will bring more content to the Caldera Island area, the second landmass on the Prospecting map. Expect new shovels, pans, sluices, minerals, and quests.
